Montana The Magazine of Western History is pleased to announce the 2021 Emerging Scholar Article Contest! We invite submissions of manuscripts focused on Western history based on original research and that provide a new interpretation of themes or events. Independent scholars, graduate students, and early career faculty are encouraged to submit! Your manuscript does not have to be focused on Montana history, but must address a topic relevant to the American West. The winner will receive $300, have their article published in Montana The Magazine of Western History, and a free trip to the 2021 Montana History Conference, where they will give a presentation on their article.
